What is ESV?
Employer Supported Volunteering (ESV) is the promotion, encouragement and support of staff involvement
in voluntary activity. Employees give their time and expertise to support projects of value to the
community. ESV programmes can take many forms, including:
- Individual volunteering
- Mentoring
- Trustees or school governors
- Development assignments
- Secondments
- One-off team ‘challenge’ events
The volunteering can be on a long, medium or short-term basis and can be matched by in-kind contributions
or donations from individuals and employers.
